Reid's Flat is a small village situated on the banks of the Lachlan River. It is approx. 610 meters above sea level. The Lachlan River flows north west past Reid's Flat and joins up with the Abercrombie River. These two rivers form the backwaters of the Wyangala Dam and creates a huge water recreational area including Wyangala State Recreational Park. Wyangala Dam is approx. 2.6 times the size of Sydney Harbour and is naturally inspiring for campers and nature lover's of all kinds.

Wyangala Dam, whether you stay at the State Recreational Park or go further a field into the back waters of the Dam, Wyangala offers water skiing, boating, Trout fishing and much more.

Reid's Flat hosts annual events including their most popular the "Gymkhana & Rodeo". Hail, rain or shine, this is not an event to miss. This annual event is held around the first week of November. Details can be found on the Bigga Calendar New Events Menu.
