Bigga To-Day

The main street (Binda Street) is dominated by the Federal Hotel rebuilt in 1936. Current proprietors Richard & Denise Perry have created a family friendly Hotel which is the hub of village life and no trip to Bigga would be complete without a visit. Delicious counter meals are available between 12.00 & 2.00 (Lunch) 6.00 & 8.00 (Dinner) as well as comfortable and affordable accommodation.

Across the road from the Hotel is the Olympia Café and General Store, although all the modern requirements are available upon stepping through the door, it  is like stepping into a time capsule. Fuel is also available from the kerbside bowsers.

For those into golfing pursuits, Bigga features a 9 hole golf course situated on Tuena Street with a modern well appointed (Licensed) club house.

Beside the Community hall in the main street is a pretty park with modern safe playground equipment and new public conveniences, but please remember that in this village we rely upon tank water so please use wisely.

The only known Aboriginal rock art site of the Southern Highlands is located at Gardiner’s Rocks to the west of Bigga on Reid’s Flat Road. The rocks are named after Frank Gardiner the bushranger who used the rocks as a hiding place and lookout.

Bigga is also the gateway to Wyangala Dam and the Grabine State Recreation Area.

We look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Bigga.
